See how our player predictions performed

The public Prediction report compares forecasts saved before the FPL deadline with actual player points for the latest completed gameweek. See the biggest misses, highest forecasts and coverage. Reports start with newly archived gameweeks; older results are not presented as live forecasts.

An open look at player predictions

The Prediction report shows how FPLMan's data-driven player predictions performed in the latest completed gameweek. It compares projected points saved before the official FPL deadline with the points players actually scored.

You can see up to five of the highest forecasts, the biggest gaps in either direction and every archived player. A player who scores much more than forecast is a miss too. The player tables show points before captain and chip multipliers. The separate Captain Picks result grades the saved global captain choice when available. Neither comparison grades your personal squad.

A fair record needs a forecast saved in advance

Each report uses the latest forecast saved before that gameweek's FPL deadline. Its capture time, deadline and model version are shown on the page. Later recalculations do not rewrite that saved forecast, and historical replays are not included.

Reports start with gameweeks archived through this feature. If the latest completed gameweek has no forecast saved before its deadline, the page says so. We do not fill that gap using predictions calculated after the result.

Read the coverage as well as the score

Forecast coverage tells you how many players had a saved forecast out of all players considered at capture. Players without a forecast, including some unavailable players and players without a fixture, are outside the points comparison. Results coverage shows how many archived players have actual points available.

Average points error measures the average size of the gap, regardless of direction. A forecast of 6 points followed by 2 actual points has an error of 4. A forecast of 2 followed by 6 has the same error. Lower is better, but one gameweek is a small sample and cannot guarantee a successful transfer or captain choice.

Actual points stay pending until the results sync completes. Missing player results are labelled unavailable and are excluded from the average error and biggest misses. Missing points are never treated as zero.

Open the report from Research

Choose Prediction report in the Research menu. You do not need to sign in or have FPLMan Pro to read it. Start with the summary, then check the largest misses and scroll through the full player list.

The difference column is actual points minus projected points. A positive number means the player scored more than forecast. On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column.
